The Pennsylvania Rural Electric Association (PREA) serves as the unified voice for electric cooperatives in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Together, these cooperatives represent more than 600,000 consumers in over 230,000 rural households, businesses and industries in the two states.

More than 1,500 students from all across America take part in the Youth Tour experience each year, and so can you! Travel to Washington, D.C., where you will meet your U.S. Representatives and Senators. This unique trip will give you the opportunity to watch history come alive as you explore the museums, memorials and monuments with students from your state. You will meet student leaders from nearly every state and hear dynamic leaders on Youth Day. Bottom line, you will make friendships that will last a lifetime and be part of a group that has more than 50,000 alumni in every walk of life including U.S. Senators and CEOs.

Bedford Rural Electric Cooperative awards four $1,000.00 scholarships annually to a high school senior committed to attending an accredited post-secondary institution as a full-time student and whose parents or guardians are full-time residents of the area served by the Bedford Rural Electric Cooperative.
We are also awarding four $1000.00 scholarships annually to a non-traditional student who is 25 years of age or older and is currently enrolled or accepted at an accredited post-secondary institution. Click HERE for more information.
